If you’re thinking about getting a , and like me you don’t make the $$$ to buy a high end receiver and high end speakers, then stop looking and go go buy this system now!!! I shopped around everywhere and did a lot of research and this is buy far the best bang for your buck on the market. It has everything you need to get amazing sound out of all your home theater components, including Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS, plus extra Sound Modes to enhance your experience. It has a Night Mode which will help you not disturb your neighbors if you live in an apartment. It has a panorama “wrap-around” mode for music. There’s are several ambience modes such as “stadium mode” which will make you feel like you’re at the game! The sound out of the small speakers is amazing! I haven’t come close to pushing it to the max - can’t imagine that anyone would. At 100watts per channel, this is also the loudest you’ll get for this price! The subwoofer is great! Unfortunately, since I live in an apt. I can’t take full advantage of all it offers most of the time, but it booms! It is a passive subwoofer so you have to control volume and such through the receiver, but with the handy-dandy remote, it’s no problem. Speaking of the remote, it’s great, but it will only control your receiver and a DVD player - nothing else. The Receiver has plenty of audio inputs for all your components - I have a satellite dish, DVD player, VCR, CD Shelf system, and a Nintendo Game Cube all plugged in. However, because it doesn’t have S-Video inputs, I had to buy a S-Video Switcher to run the video signal from 3 of those through.

One thing you’ll need to know - no one told me - is that in order to connect all your components, you’ll need to put some money into connecting wires. I don’t think you need the fancy “Monster Brand” - those are for the rich guys. But I’d recommend buying the some high quality ones - I got most of mine from Target. I also had to buy Speaker Wire - Home Depot has the best price on a thicker gauge. And speaker mounts for the two rear speakers - Target again. All in all, I think I spend $100 or a little more just getting my system connected, so make sure you take that into consideration!

Overall, this is a GREAT system. And I only paid $250 on sale at Best Buy! There is not a system anywhere near that price that offers all the features and that many watts (600 total) w/ speakers! So what are you waiting for?!?!?! You could have the Home Theater System of your dreams today!
