We bought this for a theater system around January of this year. It has worked fine and we bought expensive cables and are using the optical out so we do not have the delay.

The problem is after having it for 4 months the DVD/CD player wont read any disk and it shuffles through the 5 disk player.

All that happened was I played a movie. Took out the disk. Put a new one in and it wouldn’t read it or any. 3 Months later and it still does not work. I use a DVD player I hooked up to it.

After calling the manufacture number they were so kind to say… you can ship it all the way to us to which to our service department. It has a 12 month part warranty and ONLY a 90 day service warranty. Notice how the unit went bad right after the 90 days. So now they want to charge me $79 dollars plus the shipping for them to work on it. The shipping alone from Alaska is almost enough to make me go buy a new one.

Even if I did mail it my theater system is useles without the box that everything plugs into that would be sent. So I would be without tv for the weeks that it is gone.

In my opinion LG Does not stand behind their products. When you pay that much for something it better last a year with no problems. There is no way to know that it will not go bad again and have to pay more for it. I think that is how LG makes extra money is these “repairs”. This is an ongoing issue with this unit and other LG dvd players I have read it on the internet about this with other people.

I live in Kenai Alaska and Dan’s TV and Appliances didn’t offer any help because we had it just long enough for them to get their money and say too bad.

Will not buy another LG Electronic Product. We do have an LG Fridge but we will see how that goes. That’s all for now good shopping everyone and demand customer service.
