This is a nice sound system but the DVD player is faulty (DVD782CH). I returned it twice.
Receiver and speakers worked really well. The receiver has lots of inputs including 3 digital audio inputs.
Lots of nice features.
Was actually very pleased with the system other than the DVD player.
I called Philips to get some kind of replacement and they wanted $60 plus you have to pay for shipping. I told them it was a bad design and should be recalled but they refused to acknowledge. Check reviews on the web for the model number of the DVD player and you’ll see all the problems. I managed to find about 100 or so all with the same problem.
Purchased in May 2002. Much cheaper now.
