Our six year old DVD Home Theatre was needing last rights. It was time to bid it farewell and get a new one. After searching through many stores, we ended up at Best Buy and selected the Sony HDX266. We were able to get it for $287, but I had a 12% coupon.

Some basic facts about the system. The total output power is 1000 watts @ 1.5 ohms, 80Hz, 10%THD. Compared to some of the others I have heard, the sound on this is very good. Not in the class with the $1000+ systems, but for its price range.

Overall, the sound produced my this sound system has nothing to offer. I couldn’t say enough bad things about the lackluster, half-absent sound produced by the Lifestyle 50, so I won’t start. Considering the cost, I think Bose is selling this system for laughs. If the system cost $600 I could concieve of someone buying it for a nice set of computer speakers, but only if they had $600 to waste.

Unless you can’t hear and have $3500 that you can only spend on a Bose Lifestyle 50 please please don’t buy this thing.

I had heard of Bose, and I got a chance to hear it and I was ((wow)) by it for the size and sound. Movie,Sports and Video games is just so life like it unreal. I’m very happy with it. Anyone who is reading this should go hear it first before you knock it, This is what a Home Movie System should sound like. And the stored music of 340 hours is really nice all my music is right at my finger tip with the RF remote allow me to control my system from any were in my home. The setup was very easy, I told my wife if we ever part I’m taking my BOSE. With the Bose outdoor speakers and the Amp. the remote that’s called a Personal Music II, I can be outside on the deck enjoying all of my favorite music at the same time my wife is viewing her favorite soaps on TV which is cool, and I just can get over the sound for Football and Video Games on the system, The Wii Game System is aw some on here.
